ICCN History

The International Conference on Cognitive Neurodynamics (ICCN) has been successfully held biennially for four times thanks to the worldwide participants and the respective organizing committees. The conference was initiated by East China University of Science & Technology (ECUST), Shanghai Society for Biophysics and Cognitive Neurodynamics published by Springer Science + Business Media B.V., Germany with Prof. Rubin Wang from ECUST as the General Chair in Shanghai, China in 2007. Although it was held in China, there were 2/3 of around 250 participants coming from abroad, indicating the strong scientific research capabilities and the great attention paid by the scientists especially in the developed countries as well as a trend to study cognition from the point of view of neurodynamics. Because of its unprecedented success, ICCN was held every two years in Hangzhou (China) in 2009, in Hokkaido (Japan) in 2011 (https://dynamicbrain.neuroinf.jp/conferences/iccn2011/), Sigtuna (Sweden) in 2013 smoothly (http://www.agoraforbiosystems.org/ICCN2013/) and Sanya (China) in 2015 (http://iccn2015.ecust.edu.cn)

In particular, in spite of difficult situations in Japan in 2011, there were still 161 enthusiastic participants from 17 countries. Sincerely thanks to all the devoted scientists and scholars as well as every whole-hearted organizing committee, the coming ICCN will go well and forge ahead.

We hope that the forthcoming (August 1-5, 2017) Meeting in Carmona (Spain) will further increase the strength and scientific interactions of our relatively young Society.
